7th july marked one of the most memorable moment of my student life in imu. this was the day i got the opportunity to be 'this' close to our former 4th prime minister, the well-respected Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammed.
the honourable guest was here this morning to deliver his speech on 'Leadership in Medicine and Contribution to Nation Building'. simultaneously after his speech, there's this Q&A session with the students. we, as the aspiring professionals in the healthcare industry had more or less benefited from the aforementioned speech. 6 students went up to to propose their questions about tun's visions on malaysia's future healthcare provider, his idea of realising the nation's health sector standard to those of develop countries, what's his level of satisfaction as the nation's leader etc..
depite the perpetual negative political issues being branded on him, nevertheless, i'd still respected him not only for his mighty contribution towards malaysia's progress over the past 20-30 years, but also his capability of articulating himself so well. whatever questions forwarded to him were so eloquently answered, with much practical thoughts. and, and, and he is one very PUNCTUAL person. unlike, those little 'dai lap mak' who enjoyed making people wait for their arrival, as though it's the most reasonable thing on earth. -__-"
right after the brief one hour session, tun began to leave his seat and went on to shake hands with some of the students who sat at the front row. it was then, the "mahathir-frenzy" took place. ALL, i meant ALL students rushed right after him, just to catch a glimpse of this honourable leader. it was almost impossible for us to snap a clear photo of him, what more of getting near to him. the chaos was equivalent to witnessing the appearance of a super idol.
haha..worth skipping bioscience lecture afterall. :P
